Regulation of legal services: Committee to hear evidence

​The Constitutional and Legal Affairs and Justice Committee, a Standing Committee of Tynwald, is inquiring into the regulation of legal services in the Isle of Man, with reference to the role of the Law Society and, in particular, the Advocates Disciplinary Tribunal.  

The Committee will hear evidence on this topic from the following witnesses on Monday 23rd April 2018:

10.30am          Ms Vicky Unsworth, Ms Kathryn Clough, and Mr Peter Clucas, Council Members of the Isle of Man Law Society

11.30am          Mr Peter Scott (Chair), Mr Peter Wood, Mr Jeremy Callin, and Mrs Jean Purvis, Members of the Advocates Disciplinary Tribunal

The hearing will take place in the Legislative Council Chamber, Legislative Buildings, Bucks Road, Douglas.  Members of the public are welcome to attend; proceedings will also be streamed live via the Tynwald audio webcasting service.  

The Committee was established by Tynwald in October 2017. The Members elected to the Committee are Mrs Jane Poole-Wilson MLC (Chair), Mr Lawrie Hooper MHK, and Mr Chris Robertshaw MHK.
