House of Keys Elects Mrs Jane Poole-Wilson to the Legislative Council

The House of Keys has today elected Mrs Jane Poole-Wilson to serve on the Legislative Council until 28th February 2018.

The election was decided on a single round of voting in which Mrs Poole-Wilson received 14 votes while Mr Alan Wright received six votes and Mr Paul Beckett received five votes.

The 14 Members of the House of Keys who voted for Mrs Poole-Wilson were Dr Allinson, Mr Ashford, Mr Baker, Miss Bettison, Mrs Caine, Mr Callister, Mr Cannan, Mr Malarkey, Mr Peake, Mr Perkins, Mr Quayle, Mr Shimmins, Mr Skelly and Mr Speaker.

The six Members of the House of Keys who voted for Mr Wright were Mr Baker, Mr Boot, Mr Callister, Mr Cregeen, Mr Harmer and Mr Speaker.

The five Members of the House of Keys who voted for Mr Beckett were Mrs Beecroft, Ms Edge, Mr Hooper, Mr Moorhouse and Mr Robertshaw.

This was the first election to be run under the new system adopted by the Keys on 4th April 2017.
