House of Keys Elects Five New Members to the Legislative Council

​The House of Keys has today elected five new Members to serve on the Legislative Council. Four Members will serve until 28th February 2023 and one Member will serve until 29th February 2020.  

The election was decided on a single round of voting in which Mrs Jane Poole-Wilson received 22 votes; Mrs Kate Lord-Brennan received 16 votes; Mrs Tanya Humbles received 15 votes; Mrs Marlene Hendy received 14 votes; and Mrs Kerry Sharpe received 13 votes. Mrs Sharpe will serve the two-year term to 29th February 2020.The Speaker of the House of Keys, the Hon Juan Watterson SHK said: “It is my great pleasure to congratulate the new Members of the Legislative Council. It was gratifying to see a full public gallery and a wide array of candidates, as Tynwald hoped for when reviewing the functioning of Tynwald.” 

This was the second election to be run under the new system adopted by the Keys on 4th April 2017.
