The Environment and Infrastructure Policy Review Committee is examining the problems caused by recent flooding in Laxey and concerns over the potential for future damage to occur in other flood prone areas of the Island. The Committee now invites written submissions on this topic. The Committee is particularly interested in the following areas:
The implementation and effectiveness of preventative measures in flood-prone areas;
The maintenance of rivers, reservoirs and drains;
The insurance implications for residents and businesses in flood-prone areas; and
The support received after suffering damages as a result of flooding.
Submissions should be sent to the address below by 18th November 2019. Email is preferred but hard copy is equally acceptable.
Please be aware that the Committee may choose to make public any information it receives. Personal contact details are routinely redacted in advance of such publication. If there is any other information in your submission which you do not wish the Committee to publish, or which you believe the Committee should not publish, please explain this in your submission.
