The Select Committee of Tynwald on Public Service Broadcasting intends to hear oral evidence in public from Ken MacQuarrie, Director of Nations & Regions, BBC; and Luke McCullough the Parliamentary & Corporate Affairs Manager, BBC, on Thursday 31st May 2018 at 11.30am. The evidence will be heard in the Legislative Council Chamber, Legislative Buildings, Bucks Road, Douglas. Members of the public are welcome to attend or to listen via the audio webcast service on the Tynwald website.
On Tuesday 16th January 2018 it was resolved:
“That Tynwald reaffirms its commitment to public service broadcasting and is of the opinion that it should be provided in an efficient manner using a variety of channels; and that a Select Committee of three Members be appointed to review the current licence conditions, delivery model and funding thereof, and connected matters, to take account of technological advances and demographic changes; and report with recommendations by July 2018.”
The Members elected to the Committee by Tynwald are Dr Alex Allinson MHK, Mr Tim Crookall MLC and the Hon Juan Watterson SHK. The Committee has elected Dr Allinson as its Chair.
