Tynwald Christmas carol service

The Tynwald Christmas carol service will be held at St George’s Church, Upper Church Street, Douglas at 1.10pm on Thursday December 15.

The President of Tynwald, the Hon Steve Rodan MLC, welcomes members of the public and the local business community to join Members and Officers of Tynwald for the service, which will include a selection of Manx music -  some pieces familiar, others less well known - along with works from further afield, and will bring together the Tynwald choir and the Isle of Man Government choir to sing Three Kings From Out The Orient. (Music by WH Gill, words by TE Brown).

Extending the invitation Mr President said: ‘The Tynwald carol service offers an opportunity during what can be a very busy time for businesses and households to pause and come together to celebrate Christmas in music, song and prayer. Everyone will be most welcome to come to St George’s for the service and then to join with Members and Officers afterwards for a cup of tea and a mince pie.’

A collection will be made during the service which is expected to finish at approximately 2pm.
