Following the death of Martyn Quayle, formerly MHK for Middle (2001-2011), Mr President Rodan issued the following statement:
“It is with shock and great sadness that we have learned of the death of Martyn Quayle following a tragic accident. He was a well-liked and popular Tynwald colleague, and an effective parliamentarian, and a good minister. He will be much missed by his many friends and former Tynwald colleagues. Our deepest sympathy goes to Martyn’s family.”
Background note: Mr Quayle was Minister for Home Affairs 2006-08; for Tourism and Leisure 2008-10; and for Social Care 2010-11. He was also a Member in: the Department of Tourism and Leisure 2001-06; Department of Trade and Industry 2001-04 and 2005-06; Office of Fair Trading 2001-04; and Department of Home Affairs 2004-05. He was Chairman of the Isle of Man Water Authority 2004-06.
