The Office of the Clerk of Tynwald invites expressions of interest from people with experience in the armed services for the role of Tynwald Military Liaison Officer.
The Tynwald Military Liaison Officer is central to the Tynwald Day ceremony at St John’s and plans, communicates and co-ordinates arrangements for the military element of the proceedings, liaising with representatives from the Army, Navy and Royal Air Force providing support on the day under the direction of the Clerk of Tynwald. There is a small honorarium, but the post is a voluntary one.
Candidates would, ideally, be local, familiar with the formal Tynwald Day proceedings and, importantly, willing to take an active role and serve over several years as a member of a team whose contribution is critical to the enduring pageantry and spectacle of the Island’s National Day.
In the first instance applicants are asked to contact the Third Clerk of Tynwald Mrs Marie Lambden, Legislative Buildings, Douglas, Isle of Man, IM1 3PW, telephone 685511, email@example.com by 31st October 2014.
