The Tynwald Library exhibition space, in the Legislative Buildings in Douglas, is featuring a display of work by the Isle of Man Photographic Society.
More than 50 works, shown by some 15 members, will feature subjects ranging from landscape to still life, wildlife to portraiture. Much of the work will be available for purchase during the exhibition which will run for four weeks from Monday 23rd July.
The Isle of Man Photographic Society, founded in 1938, operates a seasonal programme from September through to April and full details of its activities can be found by visiting the Society’s website, www.iomps.com.
The Tynwald Library exhibition space provides schools, youth, community and sporting organisations as well as private individuals and commercial enterprises with a secure, easily managed display area. There is no rental charge, although a small commission fee is applied to sales.
The space is adjacent to the gift shop which carries a selection of gifts and souvenirs, many unique to Tynwald, along with a range of Manx-themed items.
Both the exhibition space and gift shop are located on the ground floor of the Legislative Buildings in Finch Road and open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
Free tours of Tynwald, lasting about an hour, are offered on Mondays at 2pm and Fridays at 10am weekly, excluding public holidays. Groups may request pre-booked tours at other times, including evenings and weekends.
