Tynwald Day - Arrangements
The information here relates to the general arrangements for Tynwald Day each year. Nearer the date of the actual ceremony, usually by mid-June, there will be specific information available about this year's ceremony via a link on the left.
Persons wishing to reserve a ticket for a seat on the Grandstand at this year’s Tynwald Ceremony should contact the Tynwald Administration Office on 01624 685500 in the first instance. For tickets to be issued a self addressed envelope with a cheque for the number of tickets required (£4 each), payable to IOM Government, will need to be sent to the Clerk of Tynwald's Office, Legislative Buildings, Finch Road, Douglas, Isle of Man, IM1 3PW.
Up to two weeks before the Ceremony tickets and programmes can be purchased in person from the Tynwald Library, on the ground floor of Legislative Buildings at a cost of £4 each, which includes a Tynwald Programme.
Tickets will also be available from the Official Ticket Kiosk at the Ceremony.
There will be a designated area at St John’s School for reserved parking for persons in possession of a disabled badge. If you wish to apply for a parking pass (free of charge) please send a stamped addressed envelope, along with a copy of the disabled badge, to the address below. The passes will be distributed on a first-come first-served basis and despatched two weeks prior to the Ceremony.
Other car parks for the general public will be available at St John's, for which passes are not required. Additional buses to and from St John’s will be running throughout the day, details of which will be publicised in due course.
Potential petitioners are advised to consult the Guidance for Potential Petitioners at Tynwald Hill and to contact the Clerk of Tynwald's Office should they require any additional information.
Anyone who is an accredited press representative for a news service may apply for a press pass which is required to attend the Tynwald Ceremony in a journalist/photographer capacity.
To obtain a press pass please send details of your name, accreditation and organisation along with 2 passport sized photographs, with the name of the person on the back to the Tynwald Administration Office. Legislative Buildings, Finch Road, Douglas, Isle of Man, IM1 3PW.
Applications must be received by the 5th June.
