Committee to hear evidence from the Department of Education, Sport and Culture; and on Suicide

​The Social Affairs Policy Review Committee, a Standing Committee of Tynwald, is to hear oral evidence on 8th March 2019 in the Legislative Council Chamber, Legislative Buildings, Bucks Road, Douglas.

The Committee will hear from the persons listed below at the times specified.

1.30pm Education, Sport and Culture Minister Hon Graham Cregeen MHK, and Chief Executive, Professor Ronald Barr. This is an annual general oral evidence session at which a range of topics will be discussed. A transcript of last year’s session may be read here.

2.45pm Mr John Kermode of Pyschology.im on the issue of suicide.

3.45pm Ms Gill Porter, Branch Director of the Isle of Man Samaritans, on the issue of suicide.

The members of the Committee appointed by Tynwald are Mr David Cretney MLC (Chairman), Mr Martyn Perkins MHK, and Ms Julie Edge MHK.

The evidence will be taken in public; members of the public are welcome to attend. The evidence can also be heard via the “live and listen again” audio webcast service on the Tynwald website.
